The Daisy

The Story

Named for a mother. Built for a city.

The Daisy celebrates the values Daisy Mamini Brawn passed down — care, community, and a deep love of Calgary.

Three generations of the Brawn family lived on this block. The building that bears her name rises on the site of her childhood home.

Daisy Mamini Brawn (1909–1989)

Daisy Mamini was the daughter of early Italian settlers who made their home in Calgary. She raised her family on this very block in Bankview — 14A Street SW — and three generations of the Brawn family lived here.

Her son, Bob Brawn, was born in Calgary on September 24, 1936. He grew up to become one of the city's most recognized business leaders and philanthropists, receiving the Alberta Order of Excellence for his contributions to the province.
